Buddy is a tall, white goose with a red top-knot on the top of his head. Bitsy is a little brown and gold speckled hen. They live in an orchard of a little blue house behind a high ornamental fence on Carmel Street. Bitsy hears a loud noise and is frightened. Buddy suggests finding the source of the noise so she will no longer be afraid. They slip out the gate and find their way to the nearby zoo. Buddy protects Bitsy and answers her questions when they leave the safety of their home. The duo partakes in many exciting adventures, learning about other animals and friendship along the way.
